Goa to Bombay

A quick visit to my Gods own country "Goa'".Have never ever been convinced by the Kerala government claims , but since the flavour is to act rebellious and label it as freedom of expression , I vote for Goa as God's own country.

To avoid any confusion here , let it be specified that "country" is used as a common noun this instance , not the usual mis-understood opposite of foreign liquor. Although both do flow freely in Goa as the Mandovi river, here ! Gotcha Kerala government ; You guys cannot claim that can ya ,with all that prohibition nonsense happening ! Endless oceans , verdant greenery , great food and above all the warmth of the local Goan people....Unfortunately very few of the latter (that is Goan people ) are around. It must be the only tourist destination in India , where one can see more foreigners than locals at any point if time .

One of the reasons one loves Goa is the fact that it allows you to just be ... Freedom in the true sense, even more than the Abraham Lincoln sense , is what one experiences in Goa. People of all ages, races , sexes, young, old shed their inhibitions, not to mention clothes. Skimpily clad aunties is a reality here ! God knows however ugly that looks, pot bellied men of all ages , wearing knickers instead of swim suits , in a perpetual state of inebriation , strut around beaches of Goa leering at women , preferably Russian kind. Not to mention the Russians ? Hot bodied men and women , no matter what age laze around in trunks or bikinis , allowing the harsh sun to redden their skin. You are also allowed to rent two wheelers/bikes/cars to drive around on your own !

But the freedom we talk about here is the total kind. Neither of the aunties/uncles nor the foreigners care about anything but themselves . No nuisance of moral cops , no tourist molestation cases , no parental disapproval, no code of conduct. Where else can you see septuagenarians romancing in India ?So people can just be the way they are ,that is the ultimate religion according to moi, just allowing things to be , without do's and don'ts. Where people set their own boundaries and limits , beginning with I shall behave responsibly.

I have certain objections though to this entire Goa,state of affairs (pun intended),For one where the hell is the moral police ? Why are women in Bihar,Haryana, Rajasthan not allowed to wear jeans when the same men and same women in Goa have no such problems ? Jeans is an over dress in Goa , in a manner of speaking. Is Goa not a BJP state? If so , where is the Sri Rama Sene goonery band ? Are Karnataka girls supposed to not visit discos only in Bengaluru but in Goa they can ? By what logic? And if people can do things in Goa why not in their own state ? Ditto with all the Punjus . They come closest in terms of skin color to the Russians , but their maroon /red "lipistick"  being the dead giveaway ! They wear shorts over their not so well toned bodies in Goa , in front of all "paraya" mard , but have to behave like "ghar ki izzat" only in Delhi/ Punjab by covering themselves ?? Again by what logic? Maybe these hypocrites need to borrow a page from Goa's book . Let women clad themselves they way they want , as long as you treat them as equals. Unlike some mental politicians of UP/Bihar who justify rapes to the clothes a woman wear's , Goa's rape statistics are one amongst the lowest. These politicians objectify a woman as possession so their minds deserve a edema which links women crimes to what they wear .

What do the local population have to say about this ? As mentioned earlier , local population is fast being replaced by tourists and migrant workers from Gujarat and Karnataka. Lambadis and Dhanus(both tribes). Now the irony being the GDP of both Gujarat and Karnataka is higher than Goa (obviously) why do people have to migrate to Goa for livelihood ? Their logic is infallible . They believe it is easy to overcharge foreigners than Indians, loot them and make money. Most shops/Taxis/ Autos had people who were outright rude to us , and also were friendly enough to say Ba@@#rd/ MC/BC if we bargained or did not buy their stuff at ridiculous prices ,just because we were brown Indians ! Viva la India ; Viva la down trodden migrant labourers. Indians are being treated as second grade tourists, by socially weaker section of migrant (so called BPL) workers in our own land is the ultimate equalizer. Wonder if the bindi sporting brigade of journalists would accept my plea on racism by social inequals !!

But with all the problems that Goa has or will have in future , it is my heaven of freedom.Suggest one Shri Kanhaiyya Kumar , please go to Goa .Then you will understand what Azaadi truly means . You need a break to understand India, after all ,the PhD in African studies must have dried up your thoughts in 14 years of attempts...See you in Goa sometime soon pal, minus your oratorial skills. There is an ocean that reserves the right to make all the noise here .Bliss!

Movietime Showtime

The action has moved from Delhi to Mumbai again." Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani releases today ".That is the most happening thing , as we speak , in a country of mere 1.2 billion! People of this country, are more interested in movies than politics or the fact that pollution may kill them eventually. That should be true for the almighty "USA" too, only that they live the movie themselves ! There is no saying ,when which one of them would go suddenly overboard , grab a gun , and shoot down a couple of kids , all in the name of "being liberated" or some such mis-stated sense of belief. DILWALE

Delhi has been witnessing high drama (that's why it does not qualify as a movie) between the ruling party and opposition (Really! who is that exactly) , ruling party and local Delhi govt (we unfortunately know who this exactly is , but we shot ourselves in the arm, just to get an megalomaniac elected),ruling party and DCCA ( this one is like the triple twists in a Imitiaz Ali movie ),ruling party and the ruling party itself ! No wonder coporate houses like Aditya Birla have put their money in "drama" and "theatre" not in movies! Big bucks trending in the former. But we meander... Getting back to movies , one thing even a kid off the street would want to emulate would be a "Salman" khan or a "Shahrukh" khan. They may not be eating two meals, may not ever want to get schooling, may not ever aspire to get off the streets (where they are forced to beg) but will definitely know all about their celluloid heroes, the heroines , and the glitz ridden lives these sods live.

Both these movies have a common theme .Intolerance. One, the main actor (he would prefer to address himself so, else he is just a aging hero) spouted how "intolerance" has risen in our country against his brethren . Must have done it when he was high (pun un -intended) . The low being , made to eat crow, go all gag and say he was "misquoted" , "misunderstood" blah blah . Appeal to his all brothers and sisters , how wonderful India is , how sweet we all are . This after the social network , overtly protective of India ,went on a overdrive, appealing to ban his movies ,(he and the other Khan who like is character in PK wants to relocate to outer space, probably). Over zealous and devout "true" Indians ,largely belonging to hindu community , appealed to fellow hindus ,to show these people there correct places (hence "show time"). All this while conveniently forgetting the third Khan who walked away free after getting drunk and killing a few people ,who was Bajrangi (please do not miss the overt connect here ). We show that we can be "forgiving" to people who colour themselves with our colours, no matter what they do.

The second movie is now directed by another hindu director ,who somehow is more obsessed with the sets rather than storyline , actors or even direction (mere trifles these). He went on record to return his award as he too believed we all are getting "intolerant" .To his credit , he was correct , because we all as a community , were extremely intolerant of his last such movie attempt , (flopped miserably), although it showed some butt of another actor , very teasingly . Poor sod (the director , not the actor) did not understand , we still are not interested in the "behind" , we are confrontational , and like to deal with things "upfront" ! So again a social media spiel about how incorrect his period drama is , how much of skin he should have not made his actors show etc went viral. This time it was like he was the enemy in our own fold ! So the attitude being let us show him , what returning an award means ,the silly fool , was the hidden angst.

For once , the power of Indian majority shines through, in a misdirected sense , where "its showtime" means a different thing altogether. But dear fellow Indians, we are the country which made silly movies super hits (let us not even get to south , else fans will wage a war on us), made actors out of aspiring heroes/heroines , wept when soldiers onscreen got killed and did not bother to salute a real life one who saved our lives ! Hypocrisy , is inherent in our blood. So what are we getting so hetted up about ? Do movies replace our grey cells ? Going by the current turn of events , they apparently do ! Not for one moment is one advocating people to go and watch tripe onscreen , but is in not about choice ? What if I like to watch tripe ? (one doesn't thankfully) But is it okay , to instigate a million others who revel on tripe ? They live their lives around these celluloid dreams .

On a personal note , it is unfair to make a hit of a nonsensical idiotic movies of any kind . But lest we forget , we are Indians. Sensible movies for us have no masala . So we do not like them. We guffaw at slap stick comedy (ask Kapil the secret to his success) , like homosexual jokes (elsewhere it would be discrimination and frowned upon), our idea of a comedy is cross dressing , or people caught with pants down (Govinda), and lastly our idea of a superhero is larger than life ,old heroes(ancient actually) who still appear on celluloid , wearing a face of  charm , trying to appeal to our consumerism by selling everything from gold, to agarbattis to charity ! Our movies, these so called actors , the audience are all swayed by a consumerist culture , including movie opinions or banning the same.

How did one miss out any Robert Downey Junior or Brad Pitt ads selling gold or agarbatti ? Or an Angelina Jolie or a Scarlett Johannesen selling dish washing liquid or tooth paste ?  Maybe that is because they are "actors" not some heroes or heroines randomly appearing in movies because they have been produced. Not that, hollywood or any other cinema in the world does not produce duds! They do. Only difference being people are objective in their choices. Whereas the Indian audience is subjective ! We get swayed by what people tell or show us . That is "movie time " or "show time " for us ! Where else in the world would you have a Madhuri Dixit washing vessels or a Karishma Kapoor frying Mcain for guests !

This is the pride of India. The Himalayas. Many would feel that the Taj Mahal which features in the wonders of the world, supposedly white ,is rightful of its place .I would however differ. This natural white beauty, untamed, with snow laden, impregnable, daunting peaks makes us stand with our head up-literally and figuratively.Nature's gift to us.

Amidst these, is a hard working civilization .The "pahadis" as one would call them.Simple folk ,for whom life has a routine which begins with toil and ends with simple living.

Where going to school would mean a trek of 3-5 km, occupation would largely be driving, shop owning or working in a government office or a bank, basic vegetables and groceries would be a matter of scarcity as they have to be transported from other places to here. But one thing is plenty. Water. The gushing streams of pure white, green, light green, dark blue, icy blue and dark green from melting snow peaks makes us understand why Mars orbiter is obsessed with finding water in another far off planet. These peaks feed lifelines to India.

This was a religious tourney. Not one for relaxation of the body but one for the upliftment of the soul and spirit. Kedarnath and Badrinath. The two must visit sites, for most devout Hindus.Travelling there a tedious procedure as much as the object of achieving spiritual enlightenment.Fortunately one could make it. Fortunate because just two years back, the natures backlash on human transgression to exploiting all places on mother earth , left with over 4000 dead.Photographs show the extent of devastation. As mother nature protects us, she also protects her mountains, trees and rivers one assumes.

This is the photo of the place behind the Kedarnath temple. The red flag is the place where Adi Shankaracharya took Samadhi. Destroyed by mother nature. Make shift tents and some stalls on wooden platforms other than the helipad are the only things that exist now in this beautiful Jyotirlinga site .And of course the temple ! Not a scratch on it . Some claim it to be a miracle, one man was churlish and said "god protected himself ,while he allowed others to get killed". He was admonished by his wife who, prayed fervently to a mighty god who miraculously saved the holy structure,to bless her.She had hitched a free ride on the chopper as her husband was a government official, while some of us less fortunate paid for the trip.

As legends or myths go, this temple was supposedly built by the Pandavas, later consecrated by a Himalayan king .The lingaa is in shape of a triangular stone. Story being , when Lord Shiva took form of a bull to test the valour of Bhima, the hump fell off at Kedarnath, the bull picked Bhima in its horns and raced with him all the way to Nepal to Pashupathinath. This humbled the pandavas and they worshipped Shiva in both the places by building these temples.

Have deliberately posted the rear view of the temple as the "shila" or the boulder which prevented the temple from being washed away is featured here.As usual priests descended on us as soon as one  got off at the helipad. But unlike some other holy places as in Puri, or Kashi these guys were more realistic. They maximum they expect for a "rudra" pooja is 2000 INR. While one could debate whether it is appropriate or not, it definitely was much lesser than the 5000, or 10,000 one was demanded in Puri.

The photo on the left, really makes one thankful to the Indian army. They deserve a healthy salute if not a worship .Makeshift tents are managed by the army, for pilgrims who wish to rest in case they cant hurry back or if the unpredictable weather suddenly makes onward journeys impossible. One has to register with the army on arrival and departure.Seen at distance ,is the temple gopuram.

One lousy part of visiting the temple was that thronging crowds were eager to worship "shiva" and fell not only on each other but also on the idol. Some vidhis included smearing cow's ghee over the idol, sitting down next to it with people hanging over one's head precariously. Lights went off suddenly in the sanctum and out were a million phone flash lights on.This also made  people start to cackle away, shouting to their family members, amidst priests chanting many multitude shlokas in cacophony ,The prayer was more an act than spiritual. Plus these people from South of India had descended in hordes , in their excitement of visiting a place in "snow clad mountains",with most dressed as if  , Kedarnath was Antartica! They were looking like people in bloated spacesuits, awkwardly waddling around, bumping and giving expletives in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu , Malayalam et al.Personally speaking sanctity in a soulful connect was lost in cacophony. But if I would want to visit again ? Yes. Maybe if the army would allow me when the place is shut and frozen.

God surely would love the solitude so probably I would never get my wish!Kailash done with next was to Bhoo Vaikunth ..

If one felt the ravages of nature and her swift retribution towards human greed in Kedarnath, the journey to Badrinath was a constant reminder that we are puny, unimportant creatures with pea sized existence in larger scheme of things.

Mountains of rocky landslides with passes no more than exactly 5 feet of road for through fare, no roads of tar but only of boulders and stones for almost 20 kms welcomed us.We met some other pilgrims on their way to Hemkunt Sahib, in their usual Delhi/Chandigarh  style with rash driving. But to their credit, even they stopped at places where the road at 4000 feet height had only 5 feet width to let the vehicle in the opposite direction pass by before they went on!I tell you ,these holy places do miracles and give us actual blessings in terms of common sense.

As one can see the mountains have actually wept stones profusely on to the roads. Could we call it as nature weeping ? Probably yes.Or maybe we need a comet like attack would put most human beings in perspective towards what is important and what is not ?

It was with great dread one actually traversed this entire road , or whatever it could be called. The driver was very nonchalant ,as only a pahadi could be. He commented that he had to change the tyres every month, and said casually that Badrinath would be colder than Kedarnath. Immediately one could get back images of people in bloated up spacesuits but surprisingly that was not to be !

Bhoo vaikunth as it is called was a beautiful experience. With the cool Bhagirathi and Alaknanda flowing from the peaks , mount Neelkanth on the foot of which stands this magnificient temple was really a treat. One glimpsed the images of all the first 5 Shankarachayas, heard bhjajans in Kumaoni and Gharwali with Jai ho Badri Vishal chants which reverberated around. People thronged to the rivers to do tarpan , got a pandit who visited and tried negotiating with me on rates and was shooed away. The place itself is bliss. Whether one does shraddh or tarpan for departed souls or not, a must recommendation is to pay a visit when one is alive and kicking! Also it would be great if one could book a place at the feet of Lord Narayana requesting him to forgive our stupid ,angst filled existence .

Worth mentioning that Kapoor Aarti is 250 INR, prasad aarti is 500 INR and sampoorna aarti is 750 INR. Great leveler was ,people were asked to make a single line queue, no pushing ,we were allowed in sit on the floor like school children, priest with a mike explained the idols , their importance and then all names of contributors was read out which began with Mahalakshmi (moi of course) and ended with Smt.Nita "avem"shri Mukesh Ambani !Great feeling of equal equal before eyes of God! Hated a "iyengar" son and "mother" who were again "yacketing" about how the son should be frugal in distributing alms to beggars and how  pure a Vishnu temple is and how "perumal" should be worshipped not Shiva! The Shivaite and Vaishnavaite divide. And we as a country say we have problems with being secular ! Seriously sigh !

Loved the simplicity of the place and could feel the spiritual lift.Left this place with an onward journey to Joshimath. This is the place where one of the 5 disciples Totakacharya had established a peetha now managed by Swaroopanendra acharya who presides as deity. Will let the picture do the talking!clicked this for illustrating the extent to which we have allowed Adi Sankara's values to erode!Believe there is a case for ascendency to the rightful Shankaracharya of this place in high court.  So judiciary above monastic order and god !We learn some .

Now to the favorite part of the post most controversial "Ganga" cleaning.Pictures are of Haridwar

This one is of Ganga ghat now known as Birla ghat.Guess industrialisation does change even river ghat names. Reminds me of a Mehmood song "ki paisa bolta hain" .

Not to mention that the beautiful river flowing is completed neglected  by the family who managed to get the name changed.
This is the sewage treatment on the other side of the bridge of the earlier picture. As it is incomplete ,the green pipes just pump in slush into the river.
These two photos are of scenes just besides the sewage plant. The bridge can be seen in the last one as well.

End my blog with this sincere prayer "God in your wisdom, please instruct our governments to stop exploitation of natural resources , people ,tax payers money and many other things ;Our collective apathy should be punished by you as you deem fit. I believe you are all knowing and wise and kind.Awaiting your answers " God bless all.

Good Woman, Bad Woman

Last week a group of women from the spouse's church paid a visit. Most of them unknown, but they came with a smile , and also to collect donations. So one did the needed. Then there was talk ,about why no one from the family participates in Sunday mass. I squarely blamed the spouse , (as most intelligent women do, also partly true) but real reason being , have never been the overtly ritual doer of sorts.Plus I don't believe in that faith.Including Sunday mass attendance. Similarly,on Onam day , Mom begged participation in something called " Varalakshmi Vratham".This is akin to "Vata Savitri" or "Theej" or " Karwa Chauth" of sorts, where women worship Gauri, for longevity of the husbands. Apart from the traditional food, (feast actually) , this sort of thing really is not something which one really wishes to do. Personally speaking, anything that encourages a woman to think her existence depends on the longevity of the husband , is and should be outdated. So generally speaking both in laws and parents have always felt I am not exactly "a good girl"(or good woman) , as behaviour does not involve self enthused, religious participation! Then the real question is does it make me a "bad woman"?I dug further, decided to see what I was not.A good woman, that is.

To understand what is a "good woman" , defined by society at large, especially in India , let us take a quick mental survey. A good woman is chaste, religious, a good daughter in law first, a good mother second, a good wife third, she is supposed to "ask permission" from father/spouse/in laws for any activity she wishes to participate or undertake, not wear inappropriate clothes which provoke men to rape her(as boys will be boys), she is "allowed" to be independent as long as she takes permission, she is supposed to "adjust" with her in-laws, forget her parents, change her maiden name too on marriage, who will now be sent away in her "doli" and her "arthi" will have to leave her in-laws house(no matter if she was actually burnt to her death). She also is supposed to not behave in unwomanly manner , is generally excluded out of financial and property discussions (excuse being she will not understand ). To illustrate , the drivers wife has abandoned him , so has his brothers wife. Yet when his mother came asking for a loan, her statement was "dono ladki acchi nahin thi"; Before one shrugs its off saying this is from lower economic strata of society, have a case in own family , of divorce and the statement is the same ,albeit in English "she was not a good woman".Its probably of no consequence that this so called "bad woman" has single handedly bought up her son, is a simple person(who was married to an alchoholic, who used to beat her), is an MCA, has worked hard in the last decade, is still unmarried for the sake of her son,(unlike her ex-spouse who now has another wife and and issue). People who still disagree, would like to illustrate further, a group of friends got together for dinner and were discussing other friends .The statement made to refer one particular person was "oh, that one , she's separated".This also from another female friend. So by definition , women who conform to societal values , largely , "sitammaiyaa" of sorts are what one assumes are "good woman". She dare not choose to leave her spouse, or marry again or even express her sexual desires! It is with great pleasure , I have discovered , I dont fit in there. Thankfully!

So again, does it make me a "bad woman" ? Recently one has been plastered by the iconic bad woman of all times, in the face, across all media. I choose to call her Indrani, (adding a surname of any kind would insult her, because she was being only her selfish self, throughout her life). She was a social climber, unwed mother of two, had three marriages, multiple liaisons, now a murder of her own daughter, terrible business woman , and a siphoned off company funds , to the extent Temasek holdings, decided never to invest in India again. To me, the only reason she would qualify as a bad woman would be because she was this disgusting business woman who ran a company to ground and also proved to Singapore, Indian companies are full of cheats. Or a Niraa Radia? She followed the  pattern largely, brought down two companies, two political parties and one government  because of her foolish arrogant behaviour. Is she a bad woman? I have a personal grouse against her ,(she didn't pay my bills) so for me she is the baddest woman, but is she? (She hasn't murdered anyone yet, but is close to many murderers, also convicted, some of them)In the sense of definition of the above they don't conform to social, ethical or behaviorial norms go out of the way , for being "Real bad women", what can one say ?Except apologise to humanity at large for their being a woman!

Let's return to rest of us mundane, working women, who like to do things as we like it, who break the mould in some ways , party if we wish to, don't take nonsense largely, do karva chauths just to keep the spouse happy(and the marriage going with some effort), don't wear mangal sutras or bindis, because we don't feel like it sometimes, who speak our minds in a no nonsense manner, treat all relatives with deference,(not with oozy love, who have "relation ships"(we are human aren't we?) and heartbreaks at times ,of all kinds, who don't actually conform to the "woman was born out of man's rib" kind of theory! If one doesn't go to pray every Sunday or Tuesday, doesn't wear abbas as religion demands, but feel deeply spiritual ,connected to god when we pray with no todo, who keep the home fires burning yet ask for our freedom of expression, voice our dissent, participate in investments refuse to be a good daughter in law, a good mother or a good wife at times, and maybe yes, divorce our husbands ,what are we? "Semi bad women"? Or the "almost good women"?

Well as long as society doesn't think that we are asking to get raped, who cares what we are called ? After all "Girls will be girls" or Women will be women"!

Saalaa man Can!

This post has taken a very long time in coming. One has stewed over and over on the  various things one could pen down, without seeming to sound very pessimistic; But every time one feels there is hope one is forced to re-look, realign themselves to the though, somethings can never change.

With a new found passion in behavioral psychology ,psychotherapy and counselling , pursuing "higher education" in the same, one was taught that it is not for psychologists to form an opinion.Human behavior from the perspective of the father of all psychologists "Sigmund Freud" has enumerated that, all behavioral adult problems are in fact deep rooted in childhood experiences.Freud proposed that physical symptoms are often the surface manifestations of deeply repressed conflicts.Largely sexual in nature.

These repressed feelings surface as defense mechanisms when one is found behaving abnormally,or rather expressing a behaviour which is not the norm of society. So dear Mr.Salman Khan , what is the reason behind your spectrum of such diverse behaviour? Repressed feelings from childhood ?

Interestingly in one of the classes, the teacher did an analysis of actors , their hidden repressed personalities and the roles they choose on screen, and how to understand the "human" being on basis of this.

She enumerated that most of Sanjeev Kumar's films had an inherent element of the big brother,"I am there for all"or "Dependable, understanding" concept. As compared to Rajesh Khanna who chose "Romantic hero, always misunderstood, tragic love" concepts. Of course one can easily classify Amitabh Bacchhan's films to be "I shall get my way, either through humor, charm or anger" or "avenging angel" persona. We moved on to directors Karan Johar who she analysed having largely "triangulated, bisexual references" or a Yash Chopra films to portray "extramarital affairs, pushing morality subtly, unrequited romance".Shyam Benegal "would always break the mould" thinking radically, just wanting to be different, elite. All these with a strict norm that, the behaviour display, is indeed a referral point ,to understand the person behind the thought and definitely not be judgmental. Time and again it was drilled into our heads that psychotherapists cannot be judgmental or opinionated,  even if dealing with criminals, as we were counselors. It was not ours to do justice.Ours was a vocation only to help the human, understand himself better.

People who may read this blog(if at all there are any)can do a quick analysis of these human behaviour elements against the actor/personalities mentioned and strangely enough one would find a pattern. So on similar lines if one were to look at the roles which Salman Khan chose; Maine Pyaar Kiya (do gooder, nice boy),Andaz Apna Apna (charming rouge, nice boy),Biwi ho toh aisi/Biwi No 1(charming rouge, nice boy),Hum Aapke hain Kaun/Hum Saath Saath hain/Kuch Kuch hota hai(Nice boy),Body guard/Ek Tha Tiger/Kick/Dabanngg series(charming rogue, violent do gooder,Niceboy)

All his films he has chosen to be a "Nice Boy"!Strange that, for a man pushing 50,who is known for frequent verbal fracas, violent outbursts, unstable relationships, outwardly charitable activities,he apparently thinks of himself as a kid ;His tantrums, his quotes, his interviews, his giggling, his demeanor all point out to the child in him!Can it be true that this actor never grew up and lives in his own fantasy world? Can it be because of that he went dumbly with all acts right from running away after the accident,to crazy defence arguments including framing his driver?

Are you truly a nice boy?Just a small star kid and you actually believe you are the true "do gooder" albeit being mis-understood? Then please do answer some simple questions; Why did you drink and drive? What prompted you to bash your true love that she had to leave you? What were those black bucks to you, that you had to shoot them for game? Why did you crush Nurullah Mohammed Sharif ?Why did you run away from the scene along with your cousin? Why did you say that the tyre burst or a crane fell on these people ?Why did Ravindra Patil disappear, and subsequently die of TB? Why did you try to say Ashok Singh was at the wheel?

If one were to keep aside psychoanalysis and look at the way how "mass hysteria" for a so called super star has subterfuged justice, it appears that law is indeed different for stars and for other commoners.Especially in India.Offences against this "nice boy" are a)Drunk driving b)Illegal driving without license c)Criminal act of killing endangered species d)Physical abuse e)Perjury.

Those who argue that he has indulged in multitude of charity acts, contributed to bringing up a street kid as his own family, has been the "bhai"(big brother) to aspiring music directors, wannabe actors, and why should he be sentenced for his crimes when multitude criminals are walking as we talk ,please remember one thing, it wasn't you who died under his wheels. It might as well have been. The laborers ,poor who were affected by his irresponsible cowardly act, will continue to suffer in ignominy, poverty and misery. Hypocrisy being Bollywood everyone including Mr Aamir Khan who sometimes pretends to be the messiah of masses has expressed support for this "nice boy".Not one has asked what happened to the victims.

As regards to the judiciary in India ,HC suspending his sentence and granting him bail , eminent lawyers such as Satish Maneshinde,Mahesh Jethmalani,Harish Salve,Majeed Memon,et al. you werent killed either.Just that justice was.The blindfold has changed colors and scales are tilted indeed. We cant get away but Saala man can!

The Great Indian Circus.

So it begins...The circus alternatively called "elections" of supposedly world's largest democracy. With barely six months to go a frantic Congress, frenzied BJP and facetious AAP are saddling their dark horses to put up candidatures which are going to govern one billion Indians. One can most appropriately call it the "Great Indian Circus" (not of Aamir Khan of Dhoom 3 fame) but a much more realistic one .Trapeze artists, Clowns, Ring Masters, Magicians ,Jugglers all from the political class will put on their best acts for all of Indians to see! Then of course there will be media acting as ticket sellers ,which would sell it as if our entire existence down to our mundane chores like even ablutions, absolutely depended on it. Unfortunately given Indian context the sad truth is no matter which government gets to rule, a common Indian will suffer. This is not a mere statement made in desperation but a fact! To elucidate subsidies will be given to rural India populace, hence middle class will be taxed higher, farmers will still kill themselves, bureaucratic class will be more concerned about managing their posts to worry about governance. Urban poor will have a higher BPL definition parameter from Rs.11 per day to Rs.14 land banks will be amassed by the corrupt to be passed on to political ilk or developers for a fee. Women will continue to get raped and murdered, unemployment will be on the increase, students will still eat near stale food and RTE ,FSB ,NREGA will all be acts aiding corruption instead of benefitting the bulk of Indian masses. But like all great shows the adage goes "the show must go on"! Necessary components such as glamour, makeup and stage are being discussed in dress rehearsals .Who would dance with whom who is the villain etc .One wonders how did the metamorphosis of elections from a serious democracy defining activity to a  theatrical one happen ? One could wryly say its all the props that have been added !

To begin what is different this time in Indian Loksabha elections? For starters lets take the budgets that these parties have set aside for "publicity" .The staggering amount beats a Shahrukh Khan ,Salman Khan or Rajnikanth starrer. While one wonders if Rs.500 crore of the Congress and some such similar amount for other parties could not have been put to better use !The parties themselves seem to think publicity is the key to success than good governance which is indeed very disturbing. One was appalled to see designers like Manish Malhotra, Ritu Kumar et all "designing" a wardrobe for Arvind Kejriwal to make him look dapper !eh? Looks apparently are important for being a politician. Brains am sure come last in the pecking order as one has ample proof in a leading party president who may become PM! Then again if we analyse the main theme of communication of the above  three parties the communication key words of the congress being "Secularism" ,BJP being "progress" and AAP being "Corruption"? (unfortunately no longer believe in that) .A party like AAP which was so much against corruption and wanted to challenge an undoubtedly corrupt congress government today has started "emphasising" that its main enemy is BJP ? While one does not doubt that BJP is also equally corrupt ,it must be with good measure that we understand Mayawati, Sharad Pawar, Mulayam Singh etc. are "partners " of the Congress coalition. So one is not only sceptical on the "methods" of AAP but also its intent on corruption. Suddenly the goal post has shifted dramatically. Please note that every eminent personality is reported to have "quit" their jobs or "intent"to join AAP but are not "certain" that they have! Exceptions being Ashutosh of IBN 7, Meera Sanyal , Mallika Sarabhai to mention a few. These guys are undoubtedly good at whatever they do but are they going to be good politicians ?Will they be able to govern? Its like having Sachin Tendulkar on your cricket team v/s having Sachin Tendulkar on your swimming team. His intent to lead India to victory in swimming may be there but will he be able to ?

In a recent interaction with Dr.Ashok Khemka (he is the famous man who challenged Robert Vadra and DLF land deal ) one was exposed to some home truths;
a)If you are good at your job and want to keep doing it honestly you don't necessarily have to contest elections and attempt to change the world.
b)A street smart good professional is more effective than a very honest yet inefficient professional .
c)To bell the cat one has to have a bell and attempt putting it around the cats neck. It may claw scratch and resist but that is a part of the deal.

What one is alluding to is that every citizen of India should use nature given gift called "brains" while polling. Voting must be done with a rationale that the most efficient candidate who would be able to govern within the existing framework ,given the tough conditions with a intent to deliver on ground should be given a preference while casting a vote. Not the huge sentimentality or the appearance or the methods applied which are all superficial gimmicks. A candidate deserves a vote not the party as that is the candidate who "may" do good work for you and your neighbourhood. One can look at the condition of once a glorious state of Maharashtra. Today Mumbai's seams are bursting not because of lack of resources(we run 70% of rest of India in terms of tax collections) but lack of intent. Weak leadership compounding to one of the most corrupt coalition partners has literally destroyed this city. It has no roads, impractical transport system alternatives, unplanned mostly illegal real estate, humungous lack of sanitation ,law and order problems ..one could go on endlessly. As a electorate it has 5 major parties including the Shivsena, MNS, RPI and the two major ones of Congress and BJP. None aspire the confidence to put back this doddering city on its legs. But with all fanfare the music rolls and the circus begins. Mass entertainment at the cost of common man. In the background somewhere, musicians are playing "we shall overcome" or "hum honge kaamyaab ek din".

Women Rapists

Ok as the title goes it is open to many types of interpretations..It may mean women who perpetuate rape!Or it may Rapists who rape only Women( as compared to sodomy on boys or raping minor children). If we go by the off beat definition it may mean women who " desire" or " ask to be " raped as propounded by major political parties. Lets begin with the first interpretation; Women who perpetuate rape. Three cases one the infamous Nirbhaya case second a case in Mira Bhayandar in Mumbai where a man and a his friend tantrik repeatedly raped two of his own daughters and the third recent case of the young photo journalist .. I strongly hold " the Woman" responsible. Ok before people jump the gun and ask what is wrong with me , the woman in question here please note is not the victim/ or the survivor of the rape but the WIFE/MOTHER of the rapists. These mentally unbalanced women are willing to sacrifice daughters up shit street but will always maintain that heir spouse/ son was innocent. What prompts them to stand up for a weak worm of a man they call husband or son is beyond comprehension. These women are more dangerous than the actual rapist or criminal because not only they support the criminal tendencies of their males but also " support" them and " protect" their maschoism/ sadism. In the Nirbhaya case it was a double whammy for the actual accused. Not only does the most violent rapist declared himself as juvenile ( one wonders if he can be old enough to rape why can he not be old enough to be convicted )but also we had some asses like one Ass araam who wanted the raped girl to tie rakhi to them and call them " bhaiyya" .Ass araam who was earlier a accused pedophile now stands accused of molesting a minor girl in one of his self styled ashrams. But his followers are 70 % women who maintain he is their spiritual guru rubbish this and blindly believe him. These women are women who fester the syndrome of rape and justify it in their minds and society at large. Hence they are willing to sacrifice their own dignity and of other women folk to mollycoddle men.As long as this mentality persists no woman will be safe. So guilt lies with these womenfolk as well. They are Woman rapists of the first kind. Rapists who rape only women well people would say its but a natural preference for rapist criminal.Women are more attractive have mammary glands which make men saliavate with longing give them a sense of misplaced power and youth! Not really. In India where pornography and prostitution are illegal uneducated people being so large rape or molestation itself is like a hidden disease. Most sickening are sodomists or child molestors. Women can think fight or even maybe protest. But children ?they are too young to even comprehend the humiliation or pain, the fright of being punished. Also in India we are still protective of our children likewise Asia unlike Europe or Americas where adult children are watched like hawks by parents taking most of their decisions for them!therein stems the large numbers of child rape cases. Children are taught to fear parents under the pretext of discipline so these aberration of specimens rapist find them an easy target. They know that a child would fear the parent hence not share the misdeeds so exploit their innocence to indulge in sadistic desires.Similarly is this sense of " shame" deep rooted in children by parents. Parents feel it shameful to admit or acknowledge that their child has been raped or exploited. This in majority cases is with girl children /teenage girls more than boys .They grow up mentally scarred for life resenting the fact that their parents couldnt protect or stand up for them. There are forced abortions blame guilt all borne by the girl caused by the family who mentally rape the woman every day .These are women rapists of the second kind. Well the third kind are the worst.. Politicians who find causes of rape or use threat of rape.. Let me begin with Maharashtra. A recent toll collection female attendant was threatened to be " disrobed" by a politician who resigned later or one Abu Asmi who sor Narendra Aggarwal of SP who believe that a woman's dress code is responsible for her rape! These politicians are probably unaware that rape happens to children/ old women/ infants. Whom one cant " accuse" of dressing up t invite rape.Again continuing with Maharashtra one Raj Thackeray has blamed migrant population. He has been vociferously opposed but in an oblique manner one tends to agree.World wide statistics show that in countries like Sweden / Europe it is indeed the Migrant muslim population which is solely responsible for theis crime of rape.Admitted that the law and order situation in Indian needs to be addressed immediately and it cant be,when our national home minister sleeps a sunday rather than address protestors supporting Nirbhaya or the state home minister bans dancing bars because he believes women of that kind encourage rape (sick)these politicains who purport gender bias treat woman as commodity or belonging are woman rapists of the third kind? There also was a status update on my facebook timeline which linked the minority community to increase in he crime of rape. The sharia laws in UAE propogate FGC (female genital circumscison) practised largely also in Africa!Although it may not be exactly true in Indian context this is a link which shows how Islamic countries treat rape as a crime !Actually they dont!! http://www.clarionproject.org/analysis/rape-and-islamic-doctrine-allows-it .Whats appaling is that a woman politician in UAE actually encouraged FGC and sex slavery of captured western women and wanted to pass it as a law ! So I guess Politicians in all forms and kinds all over the world need to rethink on the balance between what will garner them votes to what is right for the society. These are rapists of the worst kind subjugating women to torture by cunning play for Votes.
